Just moved to Derwent Vets from another local vets that was bought out by a chain. Derwent vets were incredibly friendly, caring and helpful and the cost of the operation was significantly better than the chain. And the level of service and care was far better!! Really pleased we moved and thank you for taking such good care of Henry!! 😺

We happened to be walking by your practice, with our eight dogs, when one of our golden retrievers said hello to a member of staff who was outside talking to a colleague , I said he was after treats, the lady said she would go and get the treat tub, and asked if the dogs would like a drink, she went inside and returned with two bowls of water, and a tub of treats, which gratefully received, what a great ambassador for the practice. Thank You

Highly recommend this vets practice, such kind and caring staff. My went in this Monday, the vet said she seemed well from her behaviour and a quick physical check over but listened to my concerns and booked us in for bloods and ultrasound the following morning. By mid morning I had a phone call discussing my options and advising surgery was advised, she had surgery the same day and they looked after her so well, I picked her up at 7pm. I am so glad they listened to my concerns and my dog is feeling much better because of them.

I found a squirrel in the road, I brought it in and they were amazing, quick to help and providing updates as well as information helping out for the good of the animals, honestly good people.
Bringing pets in they offer services for shy and anxious animals, good communicators. Would definitely trust and use them again.

Excellent practice! Wonderfully friendly staff who provide brilliant advice, ended up making them our practice as they stocked a rare type of vaccine for our puppy.Fantastic veterinary practice and team! They have been wonderful since I began taking my puppy to them in October 2018. They answer all my questions and I feel confident with th level of care they provide. When I had an emergency they dealt with me fast and I felt informed throughout the incident. Staff are very friendly and care for owners just as much as the pets. Easy appointment system and repeat prescription!

Absolutely brilliant vets. I moved to Derwent Valley Vets as I was unhappy with the vet I was with. They have been helpful, welcoming and my cats behaviour was completely different to the previous vets. She was calm and comfortable. Very thankful to have found them.

Derwent valley vets have been amazing with my puppy. She has severe bilateral hip dysplasia and has had surgery there. They have been amazing with maddie and with me!
The communication is excellent. I 100% trust them they are all fabulous.
Maddie is recovering well and their continuing support and reassurance is great.

We came across Derwent Valley after we were significantly let down by our old vets in Dec 2020 and they were recommended to us via the Rabbit Welfare Association. We had already lost one of our rescue girl rabbits in Jan 2020, and I honestly think if we were at Derwent Valley they would’ve been able to save her. This week we had an episode with our original boy rescue rabbit Miles, he stopped eating late afternoon on Monday. I was at the emergency vets with him tues morning in the early hours… the first treatment option they offered me was putting him under for an X-ray and potential surgery. I knew my boy, as I’ve had him for years and this didn’t feel right. I knew if we could just keep him going a few more hours we’d be safe at Derwent Valley. I rang straight away at 8am and was told to come straight down for 8:30am. Lisa has dealt with our buns a few times and she is just the most fabulous vet. So empathetic, caring and very very knowledgeable. She could see we were both drained from the lack of sleep, and asked if they could admit him on that day to get some fluids and meds into him. Whilst we were at home trying to get some sleep in and look after our rescue girl rabbit, Miles had completely perked up at Derwent and had been eating all the dandelions which the girls had picked, hay and pellets! The team were so lovely and knew we were exhausted, so they held off ringing us so we could rest. Which I thought was just so considerate. When we had some rest, I rang as soon as I had woken up and was absolutely delighted to hear the receptionist say, oh Miles, that’s the cute bunny that’s been eating everything. Music to our ears. 3/4 days later the little guy seems back to his normal self and is enjoying being back at home with his buddy Florence. I just can’t thank you all enough, from the reception team, to the nurses, to the vets you are just a wonderful team. And you guys make very stressful and upsetting situations that little bit easier. We’re hopefully going to see you in less stressful times next month when the little man comes for his yearly vaccines. But thank you again, from the bottom of our hearts, you are all amazing superstars

I visited Derwent Valley Vets after I received lots of recommendations from people in the local area. Both my rabbit and my cat have received vaccinations there and I couldn't have been happier with their standard of care.
When my cat was neutured I felt communicated with and knew he was in safe hands.
The staff are all extremely knowledgeable but also so incredibly friendly
