We arrived for dinner, however there were no staff available to seat us and welcome us. So we decided to take ourselves to our table, luckily we booked and my name was visible so we had a table. No table service, not sure if this is across the board or just our table so we ordered at the bar. We waited a good 45-50 minutes for our food (only 3 people) whilst others were served who ordered the same time. Food was tasty but your typical pub grub nothing more fancy. And the atmosphere was definitely missing something and it doesn’t have a local pub vibe, and definitely doesn’t match the beautiful scenery that it is surrounded by in Matlock Bath, overall a very basic experience.

Good pub in Matlock Bath. Great pizzas although felt a bit pricey (£40 for two pizzas, chip, garlic flatbread & garlic butter). Homemade chips are to die for though. As someone not from Matlock we felt a little out of place from all the locals but the service was great and the staff did make us feel welcome. Would recommend for the pizza.

Excellent pub, serving great food and drinks at a reasonable price. Good atmosphere, with friendly staff and fellow customers. There was live music on the night we visited and they were very good. All in all, highly recommended.

Dog friendly pub. Food was fresh and cooked to perfection. They were able to accommodate my dietary restrictions as a celiac (dedicated fryer for gluten-free food). Fantastic fish and chips from this restaurant, the chips were easily some of the best I have ever had and portions are very generous for the price.

Didn't eat here, but the food I did see looked great. Not entirely sure of the pub dynamics of Matlock Bath, but I reckon you'll be hard pushed to find a better establishment in town. Great place to catch a bit of live music. Staff are on point, and there's a decent selection of beers.

I visited the Fish Pond recently whilst on a walk through the area. We stopped in and had a pint and some sides. Loaded fries and Nachos were both amazing and very good selection of fine ales. I was so impressed that I brought a large party here to check out the main menu. We went for not only the carvery but also items from the menu including Pizza, Burgers and again those loaded sides. All members of the party were impressed by the offerings. I went for the Sunday roast, and I can only say that is one of the nicest I have had anywhere recently. The meat selection was particularly impressive, and the offering of multiple different cooks on the beef was a welcome change from a lot of places, normally your option is well done or leave it. Not here. Brilliant all round and very happy. I shall be coming back regularly from now on. Great effort to the entire team, who were all very helpful, one Girl in particular stuck out for us, Sorry, I did not catch her name, but she was originally from California from what she told us, so it should be easy to identify her. She went the extra mile to ensure our party had everything we needed and was always happy and smiling through all of our requests.

Stopped off after a hike around Matlock and Matlock Bath, in need of food and drink we stumbled across the Fishpond. The Fishpond in Matlock Bath is a culinary gem. Simply amazing place in the town. Highly recommended. Very cosy, old school, laid back place. The vibe inside is good. Friendly locals. Quite a list of food and drinks selection. I am surprised with their vegetarian options as well. Very pleased with their vegetarian menu. We ordered loaded fries, that was indeed loaded. Very generous portions. Honestly, these days it is a rarity to see their portion size. Service is good. Can easily accommodate large groups and pets. Oh boy, these locals have amazing dogs

This place was really good! I think the beat and only good place in Matlock bath! If i ever go hack to matlock bath, this is the only place I’d eat in! Really good food and good service! I don’t remember the last time I had that good burger! Loved it! And the service, they were so friendly! And food and drinks were affordable too
